Tettro is listed for patios, balconies, pool decks, and courtyards that should open and close with the weather. It is specified for those outdoor rooms, not as the default low-cost car-porch skin.
Tettro is specified to withstand the weather by closing when you need cover and opening when you want sun. The rain sensor is the tropical feature: the roof can close when weather changes instead of leaving furniture exposed. It is the wrong product if you need a permanently opaque car porch at the lowest cost — that brief is metal deck or ACP. It is the right product when the same outdoor room must do both jobs.
